Kiwanis Club of Houma

The Kiwanis Club of Houma serves Houma, Louisiana and Terrebonne Parish. Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization of community leaders that strive to make their communities better places to live. We focus our services on the needs of children. Your local Kiwanis Club's activities include:

  • Terrific Kids--An awards program at local schools encouraging third grade children to aspire to be the best kid they can be.

  • Play It Again Terrebonne--Collecting and refurbishing musical instruments and loaning them to needy kids in school bands.

  • Coats For Kids--Our annual drive collecting coats for needy kids.

  • Scholarships for local students attending Nicholls State University or Fletcher Community College.

  • Thanksgiving and Christmas food and gift donations to the needy.

  • Support and participation in the library "Book for Bikes" summer program to encourage young people to read.

  • Offering monthly Bingo games at area nursing homes.

  • Providing volunteers to local festivals and causes.

  • Aktion Club at TARC, a civic club created for and operated by local special needs citizens.

Regular Meetings

Members from many different walks of life meet Mondays for lunch at the Quality Inn on Hollywood Road. Each meeting features a speaker on topics of local interest and information as well as managing of club business. Interested? Email Kiwanisofhouma@gmail.com.
